How We Do It
The first step in any project is the big decision to make a change. For most people, change creates a difficult, time consuming, anxious burden. Our process helps take that burden off of you to make the project fun and rewarding.
No project is too big or too small. From organizing mudroom chaos to moving entire houses to multiple destinations, we have seen it all. The important thing to remember is that it doesn't matter which project we tackle first; the end result of maximizing different spaces for the long term is what we are after. We work closely with our clients to insure they get the most out of any project, on any budget. We are happy to have you working with us to speed things along and we can assign "homework" to give you things to work on between visits. Or, we can agree on a project and Vivid Organizing can take the whole thing from start to finish, leaving you free to attend to your daily life.
We begin with an initial consultation to better understand your goals for the space you have.
For most organizing projects, we start with the things you need to keep, help you sort through these things that may or may not need to stay, and then arrange for all other items to be sold, donated or disposed. Things get grouped together in a logical order, and then put away according to how they are used. Storage items are grouped and put in bins or boxes that are neatly arranged and clearly labeled. For items in longer-term storage, we produce an inventory list with photos so you remember what you have where.
We have a great deal of experience in preparing for a move. There are many tasks required to make a move go smoothly. We begin with the same process as when organizing, and then build on that by making an inventory list of everything, working through the list with you deciding on its destination, and then clearly labeling everything with its new destination. We then work with local resources to arrange for moving, storage, sale, donation or disposal. The pre-planning and labeling allow us to help make the unpacking and organizing process significantly faster and easier, getting you settled into your new home in short order. This well-established and proven method takes most of the variables out of the process and provides you with a much better moving experience.
